Job Summary:

At Norwalk Hospital Association, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Patient Care Assistant. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about providing exceptional care and support to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain visual contact with patients at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Provide assistance with daily living activities, such as feeding, toileting, and ambulating, under the guidance of a registered nurse.
  • Monitor patients' nutritional intake, behaviors, sleep, and requests, reporting any changes to the attending RN.
  • Accompany patients to diagnostic tests and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure patients receive high-quality care.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of zero to six months job-related experience.
  • Currently working towards a certificate/degree in a healthcare curriculum.
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations.

Working Conditions:

  • Sedentary/light effort, with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
  • Generally pleasant working conditions.
