Senior Eligibility Supervisor

Job Summary:
The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Eligibility Supervisor to join our team at the HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the Eligibility Units, ensuring that eligibility determinations are made in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate the activities of the Eligibility Units, ensuring that eligibility determinations are made in a timely and efficient manner.
- Oversee the review of difficult and priority cases to resolve problems related to the expedited processing of cases that qualify for exception to policy grants.
- Interpret State, Federal, and departmental mandatory HASA Public Assistance eligibility policies and procedures, ensuring that eligibility determinations are consistent with applicable laws and policies.
- Prepare administrative reports on the Eligibility Unit's activities for submission to the Eligibility and Support Manager.
- Conduct and participate in conferences with Eligibility Supervisors regarding the functioning of the units' productivity, making recommendations for improvements when needed.
- Train staff to ensure that they have the necessary knowledge to make Public Assistance eligibility determinations and recertifications.
- Disseminate work and monitor the flow and status of assignments to ensure that mandated timeframes are adhered to.
Requirements:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty.
- Or an associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described above.
- Or a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described above.
