Job Overview:

As an integral member of the Ocean Department at Nissin International Transport U.S.A., the Ocean Import Agent plays a vital role in managing the importation process for designated accounts. This position involves meticulous handling of import shipments and associated tasks to ensure compliance with customs regulations and timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the completion of all contractual documents in accordance with corporate policies and import regulations.
  2. Monitor shipment progress and maintain communication with clients and vendors.
  3. Address claims with insurance providers in the event of shipment discrepancies.
  4. Review and process essential import documentation, including Arrival Notices.
  5. Generate import documents and delivery orders as required.
  6. Calculate international fees for shipments and track payment statuses.
  7. Maintain organized records of all shipments.
  8. Collect necessary documents from overseas agents and customers.
  9. Ensure timely processing of payments.
  10. Coordinate with trucking services to meet customer delivery expectations.
  11. Facilitate necessary transportation from the pier to ensure successful delivery.
  12. Collaborate with various departments within Nissin.
  13. Perform data entry and maintain records using Nissin's import system and Oracle financial systems.
  14. Guarantee cargo pick-up and delivery adhere to scheduled timelines.
  15. Ensure all documentation is accurately scanned, faxed, and filed.
  16. Supervise loading and unloading operations at the warehouse.
  17. Deliver exceptional customer service to all clients.
  18. Follow directives from the Supervisor/Manager.
  19. Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a minimum of an Associate's degree, with a preference for a Bachelor's degree. Experience in the transportation sector, ranging from 0 to 2 years, is advantageous. Essential skills include:

  • Accurate data entry capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.

  • Willingness to work full-time and travel occasionally.
