Position Overview

This part-time casual role, based in a flexible work environment, focuses on supporting NASA's Extravehicular Human Mobility Program Standing Review Board. The selected candidate will act as a subject matter expert, providing advisory skills to the program office as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist program office activities, collaborating closely with civil servant program management to support strategic development.
  • Participate in various meetings and conferences, both regularly scheduled and ad-hoc.
  • Enhance technical integration and communication products, contributing to the refinement of content and the establishment of strategy and vision.
  • Serve as a proactive advisory specialist, identifying issues and formulating recommendations while collaborating with teams across different offices and panels.
  • Engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive program support.
  • Contribute to NASA Program office forums, including the Artemis Program Office and initiatives related to the International Space Station and Commercial Leo Development.
  • Prepare periodic status reports and presentations, summarizing findings, issues, conclusions, recommendations, and risk assessments.
  • Provide recommendations to senior-level program management based on analysis and findings.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the customer.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in relevant STEM fields.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible professional experience, including a background in systems engineering and/or program management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to convey technical concepts and recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small core team environment that leads technical discussions across a broad technical community.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to build effective working relationships with customers.
  • Excellent teamwork and leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple issues and disciplines simultaneously.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the U.S. government, requiring U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in relevant STEM fields.
  • Over 20 years of experience within NASA programs.
  • Expertise in human spaceflight.
  • Prior experience with Standing Review Boards.
  • Familiarity with NASA program issues and concerns.
