We are seeking a skilled Operational Intelligence Center (OIC) Communications Specialist. The OIC serves as a sophisticated command center focused on delivering exceptional customer service to retail locations throughout North America. The Communications Specialist will engage with customers and tenants via telephone, while also supporting security operations through radio communications and video surveillance monitoring. This role demands strong computer skills, proficiency in multiple applications, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and prioritize incoming telephone and radio communications
- Effectively gather information from callers to determine the required level of service, including dispatching emergency services when necessary
- Collaborate with on-site security personnel to resolve incidents
- Provide emergency instructions to local law enforcement or fire personnel as needed
- Monitor safety alarms to assess the appropriate response
- Coordinate incidents with the Operational Intelligence Center Supervisor
- Interpret retail center leases, site maps, and CAD maps accurately
- Familiarize yourself with the layout of various retail centers and stay informed about current threats
- Maintain confidentiality regarding policies, procedures, and sensitive information
- Become proficient in multiple computer applications for data logging and customer support
- Understand emergency and evacuation procedures for assigned retail centers
- Identify suspicious activities and ensure prompt responses from law enforcement and management
- Operate and monitor surveillance equipment effectively
- Ensure all surveillance systems are functioning according to established standards
- Assist in record management and data collection for retail centers
- Complete required training in a timely manner
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years of experience in a safety organization
- Experience in a video surveillance environment preferred
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to perform equipment checks and report failures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- Willingness to work flexible shifts in a command center environment
- Ability to pass pre-employment assessments and background checks
- College degree in Criminal Justice is a plus
