Job Overview

General Responsibilities:
Are you passionate about delivering engineering and advisory services across a diverse range of construction initiatives? This position involves leading field assessments, conducting observations and inspections, drafting, preparing, and reviewing reports for the services rendered, and acting as the project advisor for Terracon clients. Ensure compliance with plans and specifications by reviewing drawings and construction processes. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, monitor and assess project progress, budgets, and suggest modifications. Investigate and resolve design and construction challenges. Assign, review, and analyze laboratory or field data for report inclusion. Utilize sound engineering principles and effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Services may be offered for current or proposed projects in the public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and/or industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Engage in pre-task planning and report any safety concerns to management.
  • Uphold quality standards across all projects.
  • Develop engineering expertise; assignments are tailored to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Assist in research, data gathering, field observations, inspections, and both field and laboratory testing. Prepare relevant reports or sections of larger documents.
  • Analyze laboratory and field data for report inclusion.
  • Conduct calculations and engineering analyses.
  • Draft routine proposals and support the creation of more complex proposals.
  • Collaborate with engineering technician teams in testing, observations, and data collection activities on project sites, preparing daily reports that document activities and findings.
  • Operate under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Civil Engineering Technology Degree.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) designation.
