General Responsibilities:
Are you passionate about delivering engineering and advisory services across a diverse range of construction initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards? This position involves spearheading field assessments, conducting observations and inspections, drafting, preparing, and reviewing reports for the services rendered, and acting as the project advisor for Terracon clients. You will review plans and construction to ensure alignment with specifications and designs. Additionally, you will prepare proposals and cost estimates, monitor and assess project timelines and budgets, and suggest modifications as necessary. Your role will also include investigating and resolving design and construction challenges. You will assign, review, and assess laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports. Applying sound engineering principles, you will effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and project teams. Services may be provided for both existing and prospective projects in sectors such as public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Engage in pre-task planning and report any safety concerns to management.
  • Uphold quality standards across all projects.
  • Engage in professional development; assignments are tailored to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Assist in research, data gathering, field observations, inspections, and both field and laboratory testing. Prepare relevant reports or sections of larger documents.
  • Analyze laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
  • Conduct calculations and engineering analyses.
  • Draft routine proposals and support the preparation of more complex proposals.
  • Collaborate with engineering technician teams in testing, observations, and data collection activities on project sites, and prepare daily reports detailing activities and findings.
  • Work under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Civil Engineering Technology Degree.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) designation.
