Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Assistant to join our team at Texas Tech Univ Health Sciences Ctr. As a Senior Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing patient care management to an assigned clinic in clerical and clinical duties. You will work under the direct supervision of a physician or nursing supervisor in the clinical setting and the department administrator in the office.

Main Responsibilities
  • Accurately document patient height, weight, and vitals.
  • Perform POCs, PFTs, and EKGs as ordered by physicians.
  • Enter information into EMR accurately and efficiently for ACO, DSRIP, TIPPS, or any waiver or grant programs within the department.
  • Administer medications, injections, and patient education within the scope of practice and TTUHSC policies.
  • Complete documentation and enter charges daily.
  • Communicate with patients via telephone and or EMR per clinic protocols.
  • Clear clinical pools and faxes frequently throughout the day.
  • Assist and or chaperone physicians while they perform exams and procedures.
  • Prepare and operate necessary equipment and instruments for examination, treatments, and procedures.

Requirements
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of the required specialty.
  • Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty that particular work will be performed.
  • A minimum of two years of directly related experience.
