Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of aircraft through comprehensive maintenance, repair, and inspection processes. This position is essential within a dynamic aircraft maintenance and operational setting, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications on aircraft in compliance with federal regulations and technical documentation.
- Perform daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft to ensure operational readiness.
- Execute inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting, and fault isolation on various aircraft systems.
- Occasionally required to operate Government aircraft for relocation, in-flight checks, and troubleshooting tasks that cannot be completed on the ground.
- May necessitate official travel to temporary duty locations domestically and internationally.
- Provide personal hand tools for aircraft maintenance, with specialized tools and testing equipment supplied by the employer.
- May be tasked with additional duties to support the overarching mission.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid State driver's license.
- Willingness to undergo random drug testing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a suitable clearance through a background investigation.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification from an accredited institution.
- Valid FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings is required.
- Proficient in the maintenance and repair of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including airframes, structural components, hydraulics, fuel systems, electrical systems, and engines.
- Knowledgeable in system troubleshooting and capable of interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Demonstrates reliability and sound judgment.
- Familiarity with handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English, with the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical data effectively.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
- Physically capable of performing aircraft maintenance duties.
- Ability to navigate within the aircraft and meet specific weight limitations.
- Capable of standing, squatting, sitting, walking, and working with arms overhead for extended periods.
- May be required to wear respiratory protection.
- Ability to pull, push, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to high noise environments necessitating the use of appropriate hearing protection.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience working with rotary-wing aircraft is preferred.
- Experience with UH-60 Blackhawk aircraft is highly desirable.
