About the Organization


The Merced County Office of Education plays a pivotal role in supporting the 20 school districts within Merced County. This organization provides essential services and oversight in areas such as curriculum development, alternative education, business operations, early childhood education, technology integration, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing.

Led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education, MCOE serves as a central hub for fostering partnerships among local schools, government entities, and community organizations.

In addition to facilitating collaboration, MCOE is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of each school district in the county, managing appeals related to student expulsions and interdistrict transfers, and operating educational programs such as Green Meadows Outdoor School.


Position Overview


Under the guidance of the designated administrator, this role involves performing specialized health care tasks and implementing medical directives for the physical well-being of students. Responsibilities include maintaining comprehensive records of health care services provided and entering all relevant health data (such as vision and hearing assessments) into a computerized database system. The position also entails executing various clerical duties.



Qualifications and Requirements

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Education and Experience:


A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience working with at-risk youth in a structured environment.



Licenses and Certifications:

  • A valid California driver's license may be necessary. If personal transportation is utilized for work purposes, proof of liability insurance as mandated by law is required.
  • A DMV Driver Record printout is necessary.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment strength assessment is required.

3) Proof of tuberculin test results
4) DMV printout (Driving Record)
5) Proof of automobile liability insurance
6) Original High School/GED or official High School transcripts
