Job Summary

The Accounting Intern will gain knowledge of financial business models, learn to support business decisions with reasoning, and understand the accounting complexities of the world's largest biofuel producer. This role will be exposed to accounting principles, financial statement structure, and may assist with daily, monthly, and year-end reporting preparation and transactional activities. Additionally, this position will identify and monitor internal controls, participate in various projects, and work closely with the Corporate Financial Reporting and Accounting teams and Finance departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial analysis and research variances to reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Perform various transactional duties, such as accounts receivables
  • Perform audits using various internal control policies
  • Assist in cash strategies by analyzing financial data
  • Design and improve financial reports to streamline data collection
  • Complete data validation and build ad hoc reporting using financial reporting software
  • Maintain confidential files and databases
  • Assist with special projects as necessary from various team members

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and within 1-2 years of graduation
  • Value relationships and have a strong customer service focus
  • Driven, organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency
  • Effective communication skills in writing and in person
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills with the ability to suggest solutions
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel preferred
