We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Service Technician IV to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing installed fire alarm and life safety systems.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair complex fire alarm and life safety systems, including panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, and system testing.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices, such as smartphones and laptop computers.
- Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to ensure timely response to customer needs.
- Train or mentor others on the service team to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.
- 5+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including fire/life safety systems, access control, nurse call, and paging systems.
- NICET Level II certification.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
- Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Overnight travel may be required.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
- Knowledge of CCTV and IT and IP networks.
