Electrical Maintenance Technician Job Description

Novolex is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues and implement solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to resolve technical design problems
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts and systems
  • Review and revise electrical engineering criteria to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Modify electrical prototypes and systems to correct functional deviations
  • Prepare and review ongoing modifications to contract specifications and plans
  • Interpret test information to resolve design-related problems
  • Provide technical assistance in resolving electrical engineering problems
  • Install and maintain electrical control systems and solid-state equipment
  • Evaluate engineering proposals and design comments for sound electrical engineering practice
  • Write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria
  • Plan method or sequence of operations for developing or testing experimental electronic or electrical equipment
  • Prepare electrical project cost and work-time estimates

Requirements:

  • Technical degree in electrical, electronics, and/or automation engineering
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a maintenance/production environment
  • Electrical training and experience with 480 3 phases/machine controls - preferred
  • Experience with VFD Drives and PLC editing and programming a requirement
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and procedures required
  • Previous work experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or experience in blown film industries strongly preferred
  • Experience operating forklift equipment; forklift certification (will certify on site)
  • Familiar with all OSHA and GMP standards and requirements
  • Strong computer and math skills
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills; ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to work 12-hour day and night rotating shift
