We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Technician to join our team at CA Conservation Corps. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our team, ensuring the smooth operation of our office, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Review and process incoming Workers' Compensation Claim Forms and Employer's Reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Follow up on missing documentation and provide centers/satellites with verbal and written instructions and suggestions regarding workers' compensation reporting procedures.
- Code and enter missing illness and injury information into our internal database.
- Provide training to clerical staff on workers' compensation injury report practices and procedures.
- Process incoming mail, prepare for and process mass mailings, and make travel arrangements.
- Order information booklets and brochures related to health and safety and distribute them to centers/satellites statewide.
- Prepare drafts and final memos/letters on behalf of the WCM and H&S Officer.
- Maintain the H&S unit calendar and edit and finalize correspondence manual and procedures for the unit.
- Maintain a log of incoming Worker's Compensation Claims and the departmental calendar of Worker's Compensation Appeals Board proceedings.
- Monitor and adjust the Health and Safety budget and prepare billing for payment by the Accounting Office.
- Review billing for errors and make corrections.
- Order and maintain Health & Safety unit supplies and forms/paperwork, ensuring sufficient quantities for scheduled training.
- Provide backup to the Human Resources receptionist position.
- The ability to type at a minimum speed of 40 words per minute.
- A valid typing certificate confirming the ability to meet the minimum typing speed.
