Job Title: Program Manager II, Office of Emergency Services

Job Summary:

The Program Manager II will be responsible for the operations of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and Office of Tribal Coordination (OTC). This includes providing direct management oversight to staff, ensuring Cal OES goals and objectives are met, collaboration and coordination with state, local, federal, tribal nations, non-governmental partners, and foreign countries on emergency management, including preparedness, homeland security, and cybersecurity, and other key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct management oversight to staff in the OIA and OTC
  • Ensure Cal OES goals and objectives are met
  • Collaborate and coordinate with state, local, federal, tribal nations, non-governmental partners, and foreign countries on emergency management
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for emergency management
  • Provide technical assistance and support to emergency management stakeholders
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources for emergency management programs
  • Represent Cal OES in international forums and meetings
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in emergency management or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in program management and leadership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
