POSITION OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Penn State Berks is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker Utility to support their operations. Key responsibilities include:
  • Utilizing various cleaning and maintenance equipment such as scrubbing machines, vacuums, and hand tools as necessary.
  • Performing tasks such as sweeping, scrubbing, sealing, waxing, and shampooing different types of flooring and furnishings.
  • Changing out light fixtures, including incandescent bulbs and fluorescent tubes, as well as handling window treatments and wall decorations.
  • Clearing waste and debris from buildings as needed.
  • Assisting in the relocation of furniture, equipment, and supplies, as well as unloading and organizing incoming materials.
  • Cleaning windows, walls, ceilings, and light fixtures to maintain a tidy environment.
  • Supporting the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for various events on campus.
  • Maintaining outdoor areas by removing debris, leaves, and snow, ensuring pathways are safe and accessible.
  • Operating a vehicle to transport materials and personnel between work sites.
  • Keeping tools and work areas clean and orderly, reporting any unusual conditions to the supervisor.
  • Handling snow removal and applying anti-skid materials as required.
Job Requirements: Candidates must possess basic literacy and numeracy skills and have up to three months of relevant experience.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m., Friday 5:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m.

Days Off: Saturday, Sunday

NOTE: This position requires the operation of a motor vehicle as part of job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required, in addition to standard background checks.
