The Retail Operations Supervisor assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager 1 in managing all facets of store operations, customer engagement, team leadership, inventory oversight, and overall store performance. This role is vital in driving sales, enhancing profitability, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers while providing guidance and support to store personnel. The Supervisor will assume managerial duties in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager 1.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing team of sales associates, ensuring that staff are well-versed in product knowledge, sales techniques, merchandising standards, and customer service expectations.
- Oversee all operational aspects of the business, both front-end and back-end, along with additional tasks assigned by the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager 1.
- Provide leadership and direction to store staff, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management, to cultivate a positive work environment and achieve operational excellence.
- Assist in executing sales strategies and initiatives to drive revenue growth, increase customer traffic, and meet or exceed sales objectives.
- Ensure proper product flow to maximize sales floor availability and minimize excess merchandise in storage.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to implement merchandising strategies, including product placement, pricing, promotions, and visual displays to optimize sales and enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, loss prevention, and operational standards, and take appropriate action to address any violations or issues.
- Manage escalated customer inquiries, complaints, and issues in a professional and timely manner, striving to resolve problems to the customer's satisfaction and uphold the store's reputation.
- Assist with scheduling and labor management.
- Support store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, security checks, and facility maintenance, to ensure a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.
- Serve as a role model for customer service excellence, professionalism, and integrity, leading by example in providing exceptional service and building positive relationships with customers and staff.
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Store Manager.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail management or leadership.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team of employees to achieve goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships and interact effectively with customers and staff.
- Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, sales techniques, and customer service.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software applications, including point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate store operating hours and business needs.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to stand for extended hours, up to entire shift.
- Frequently lift items over 50 pounds.
- Background check required.
$12.00 per hour
