Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiac Electrophysiology at Piedmont Heart Institute
Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is seeking a dedicated full-time Cardiac Electrophysiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to enhance our APP-driven team. This role involves providing comprehensive Inpatient and select Outpatient services at various PHI facilities, focusing on patients with cardiac arrhythmias. The position entails working four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule with no night shifts.

As an Electrophysiology APP, you will be responsible for delivering specialized care to patients before and after electrophysiology procedures, including but not limited to Electrophysiology Studies, ablations, and CIED implantation. You will also be involved in recognizing and managing a variety of cardiac arrhythmias across diverse patient populations. Proficiency in device interrogation and interpretation will be part of your role, requiring strong decision-making skills and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and management under physician oversight, adhering to federal and state regulations while practicing evidence-based medicine.
• Provide care at both designated facilities, managing direct patient care autonomously on inpatient consult services, including rounding, admissions, consultations, and discharges with limited supervision from Electrophysiologists.
• Oversee outpatient clinic responsibilities and follow-up care with indirect supervision as necessary.
• Ensure effective communication and daily sign-out to the collaborative PHI team.
• Order and schedule necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as part of direct patient care.
• Participate in the training and development of APPs, students, and nursing staff.
• Foster teamwork through effective communication and collaboration with all healthcare team members.
• Show respect and appreciation towards all members of the PHI team.

Minimum Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
• Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
• Current license from the Georgia State Composite Board.
• BLS / ACLS certified.
- Preferred candidates will have 1-2 years of experience managing Cardiology and/or Electrophysiology patients.
