The successful candidate will be responsible for directing, planning, and managing construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed within assigned schedules and budgets, and in compliance with company safety and procedural policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct, plan, and manage construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed within assigned schedules and budgets.
  • Supervise construction workers and foremen, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Oversee the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of projects, depending on project size.
  • Negotiate Change Orders and adapt project cost indexes to benefit the project.
  • Monitor and maintain all required paperwork for the entire job.
  • Make key decisions in a well-thought-out manner, ensuring schedules are maintained accurately to meet timelines and requirements.
  • Ensure projects are completed by deadline dates.
  • Study, communicate, and improve on productivity analysis provided by Project Managers.
  • Maintain and enforce discipline throughout the jobsite.
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written form to large employee groups, owners, or engineers.
  • Interview, hire, and train direct reports, plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of construction industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating, and construction management.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to organize, instruct, and supervise a construction crew in all facets of construction.
  • Ability to estimate, forecast, and monitor costs of projects.
  • Understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, motivate workers, and communicate with both workers and superiors.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, email, internet, all company forms, Excel spreadsheets, all documents, photos, and field time entry.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math.
