Job Overview

The Lead Security Operations Specialist is tasked with ensuring the safety and security of individuals and property within designated areas. Key responsibilities encompass assisting clients, customers, and visitors on-site, enforcing site protocols, identifying safety risks, and managing traffic flow. This role may involve overseeing or delegating tasks within the security team, with specific duties varying based on client needs and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of facilities and adjacent areas.
  • Organize and allocate daily tasks and projects to team members.
  • Ensure the completion of assigned duties.
  • Safeguard personnel and property by maintaining secure environments.
  • Monitor and regulate access at facility entrances, admitting authorized personnel and guests.
  • Unlock premises after verifying identification.
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding security matters.
  • Protect company assets through vigilant oversight.
  • Inspect assigned areas on foot for potential fire hazards, vandalism, or suspicious activities.
  • Report any unusual or suspicious occurrences to management for further action.
  • Check that all doors and windows are securely closed and locked, documenting any discrepancies.
  • Assist individuals on-site with directions or information.
  • Escort individuals or property to designated locations when financial or safety concerns arise.
  • React to alarms and dispatched calls, determining appropriate responses based on the situation.
  • Decide when incidents necessitate formal reporting and which forms to utilize.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed written reports.
  • Support law enforcement during large public events with crowd management and surveillance.
  • Assist with traffic management as needed.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of experience in law enforcement is required.
  • Prior experience as a security officer is essential.
  • Experience in a leadership security role is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of law enforcement practices is necessary.
  • Ability to evaluate situations and respond appropriately.
  • Capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 25 lbs is required.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs is expected.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
