Key Responsibilities of Lead Cyber Security Strategist:
  • Conduct thorough reviews and updates of system documentation, including Detailed Architecture Diagrams and Hardware/Software Inventories, to ascertain the appropriate DoD IT classification.
  • Establish baseline impact values for medical devices to ensure compliance and security.
  • Document and identify common security controls within the Security Plan, gathering necessary evidence for inherited controls.
  • Initiate the tailoring process within eMASS to adjust the control set according to specific system requirements.
  • Incorporate relevant supplemental security controls while marking any irrelevant controls as "Not Applicable."
  • Identify security controls that require ongoing monitoring to maintain system integrity.
  • Review and document site/organization change control policies, ensuring their application to specific controls is clear.
  • Collaborate with the IV&V Team to clarify information needed for Security Authorization Packages (SAP).
  • Lead self-assessment initiatives, evaluate NIST SP Revision 4 controls, and document findings in eMASS.
  • Provide assistance for remediation and mitigation strategies as necessary.
  • Compile the Risk Assessment Report (RAR) and upload it into eMASS, along with all relevant self-assessment results and documentation.
  • Work closely with the ISSM to verify the completion of the Security Authorization Package prior to eMASS submission.
  • Support the program with status updates, white papers, weekly reports, and other ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Perform additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications for the Role:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of pertinent experience in cyber logistics.
  • Technical training in Cyber Security, Information Assurance, Network Design, or Information Technology, complemented by 15 years of practical experience in supporting network operations centers, Cyber Security Service Providers, or Cyber Red Teams within the DoD or Federal government. Expertise in at least three (3) of the following five (5) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Data Analysis, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Certification in IAT Level I / IAM Level I, II, III is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with the DHA mission and operational environment.
  • Understanding of DoD Networks and the orders process.
  • Proficient in delivering presentations to Senior Leadership and General Officer / Flag Officer (GO/FO) levels.
  • Strong grasp of computer security principles and best practices.
  • Experienced with eMASS and the Risk Management Framework.
  • Skilled in creating briefing materials and providing administrative and logistical support.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities (both verbal and written) for effective information delivery across all organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, flexible, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Combatant Command operations.
  • Expertise in developing comprehensive cyber security analytics.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance is required.
