Job Description

The New York Public Library is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our Center for Educators and Schools team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our educational programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of educational programs and services that align with the Library's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-quality educational programs and services that meet the needs of educators, students, and school communities.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and partnerships to support the delivery of educational programs and services.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff members to ensure the successful delivery of educational programs and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and trends in education and library services to inform the development of educational programs and services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in education and library services, with at least 3 years of experience in leadership or management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including educators, students, and school communities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with NYC Public Schools and other educational institutions.
  • Knowledge of educational technology and digital literacy.
  • Experience with program evaluation and assessment.
