Job Description

Overview:
ASRC Federal Professional Services is in search of a proactive individual with expertise in Operations Security (OPSEC) program oversight to assist in the Security Office's initiatives. The role involves managing OPSEC program functions by formulating OPSEC policies and facilitating OPSEC operations across various commands. This position entails evaluating existing policies and providing recommendations for necessary updates to ensure compliance with established directives governing the OPSEC framework.

The OPSEC Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Developing and sustaining the OPSEC program within the organization.
  • Conducting thorough OPSEC evaluations, assessments, and surveys in line with the OPSEC cycle.
  • Creating and reviewing the Critical Information and Indicators List.
  • Designing, updating, and monitoring OPSEC training initiatives.
  • Establishing and overseeing the OPSEC working group.
  • Drafting necessary memorandums and supporting documentation.
  • Formulating policies related to identity management and social media awareness.
  • Engaging in Insider Threat mitigation efforts.
  • Collaborating with other security-related activities within the organization.

The OPSEC coordinator will require regular access to classified systems for effective job performance. Remote work options are limited.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for the successful execution of the assigned mission.
  • Experience in managing correspondence, tracking tasks, and ensuring document accuracy.
  • Proficient in clear and effective communication, both written and verbal.
  • Must hold a current active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Education and Experience:

  • OPSEC Program Manager certification (Interagency OPSEC Support Staff OPSE-2390 or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an OPSEC program management or coordination role.
  • Strong time management and communication skills, capable of handling multiple deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Preferred Skills:

  • 1-2 years of experience in OPSEC program management within a large organization.
  • Experience in drafting and processing policy documents.
  • Knowledge of DoD task management systems.
  • Understanding of operations within an organizational Insider Threat hub.
