Role of the Avian Control Technician

The Avian Control Technician is responsible for executing bird management services in a safe manner, adhering to company protocols and best practices. This role involves working on client properties to ensure that their expectations are not only met but often surpassed. Effective communication and the installation of high-quality solutions are essential components of our service. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships is vital, as is ensuring that the work environment is left as clean as it was found. Clear communication with clients regarding the actions taken during service is expected. You will also be tasked with upholding service standards across all accounts you manage.

  • Educate fellow team members on bird and bat management techniques
  • Promptly report any unusual situations or challenges to your supervisor or sales representative
  • Engage in team meetings to brainstorm innovative strategies to better serve our clients
  • Assess client properties for bird-related issues and implement preventive measures when necessary
  • Complete initial technical training and participate in ongoing training to stay updated with effective methods
  • Maintain personal equipment and vehicle in a clean and functional state to ensure safety and a professional appearance
  • Support sales and management in evaluating accounts and enhancing service levels as needed
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of customer and administrative documentation
  • Achieve productivity levels appropriate to your training, experience, and the types of accounts serviced, including proper use of all equipment
  • Be available for after-hours and weekend services as required
  • Adapt to various environmental conditions, including seasonal weather and potentially dusty locations
  • Utilize inspection tools and small hand and power equipment

Qualifications Required

  • Flexibility in work hours, with the ability to work various shifts and travel as needed
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Capability to navigate structures, including climbing and balancing on ladders up to 60 feet
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Obtain certification for Aerial Work Platforms and use of power-actuated tools
  • Operate aerial work platforms effectively
  • Work safely on fixed and swing scaffolding
  • Acquire any necessary industry licenses
  • Possess a valid driver's license and pass a motor vehicle record check
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment background screening
