Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Food Safety Manager to join our team in Omaha, NE. As a key member of our Quality and Food Safety team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the development, compliance, and certification of food safety plans and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize Food Safety Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain food safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Strengthen Partnerships: Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Sanitation teams to ensure successful program implementations and the use of best practices.
  • Emphasize Best Practices: Confirm adherence to required food safety laws, regulations, corporate policies, and practices.
  • Manage People and Team Leadership: Supervise food safety team members and lead cross-functional teams to maintain food safety in a 24/7 operation.
  • Provide Cross-Functional Training: Ensure food safety training for all hours of operation and provide training for HACCP and food safety programs.
  • Manage Facility Audits: Conduct facility inspections, traceability, testing, vendor auditing, and microbial program compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, or substantial experience in quality and food safety.
  • Frequently demonstrated quality and food safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • HACCP certified.
  • SQF Practitioner and PCQI certified.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable regulations, including GMP and food safety standards.
  • Strong auditing and assessment skills with technical and software knowledge.
  • People and process management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work well independently and as a member of a team.
