About the Role

USAble Life is seeking a highly skilled Counsel to join our team. As a Counsel, you will play a critical role in analyzing legislation and regulatory requirements, preparing and interpreting legal documents, and reviewing company policies to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Filings: Prepare regulatory filings and assist with preparing responses to federal and state administrative and regulatory agencies in their oversight and audit of the Company's operations and business.
  • Legal Support: Provide legal support to business functional areas to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Legislative Analysis: Analyze legislation and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Document Preparation: Draft contracts, policies, and other documents needed to support Company's strategy, values, and goals.
  • Compliance: Understand and take measures to ensure Company compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and Code of conduct.
  • Corporate Governance: Supports Corporate governance requirements.
  • Research and Advice: Research and advises on legislative and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-4 years of experience, with regulatory experience in Dental insurance, ACA/Healthcare Reform, Regulatory filings, Dental product rate & form filing compliance, and Medicare Advantage.
  • Skills: Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences. Interpersonal skills with the ability to be seen as a trusted advisor. Ability to interpret statutes, regulations, policies, and other contracts. Ability to identify risk and provide solutions that support company goals while mitigating risk and maintaining compliance.

This is a remote position. The base salary range for a Counsel role is $79,200.00 to $150,400.00. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.
