About the Role

L3Harris Technologies is a leading aerospace and defense technology innovator, delivering end-to-end solutions that meet customers' mission-critical needs. We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Engineer, Product and Component Engineering to join our team in Redmond, WA.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the Space Electronics Instrumentation, Component, and Test Engineering group. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing engineering support tasks for instrumentation hardware, including temperature, pressure, speed, vibration, and position sensors.
  • Managing requirements, performing design trade studies, evaluating sensor suppliers, and coordinating activities related to hardware fabrication and test.
  • Working closely with instrumentation sensor suppliers to design, manufacture, and test flight and ground test instrumentation hardware.
  • Performing instrumentation data analysis in support of rocket engine hot-fire testing and/or component testing.
  • Participating in engineering process training and other professional development activities.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with MS Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) is expected. May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information.

Desired Qualifications

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Working knowledge of instrumentation/electrical/mechanical engineering support of rocket propulsion systems.
  • 6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with formal failure analysis techniques.
  • Experience with Visio, MS Project, and data analysis tools such as ADAMnet and Winplot.
