**Component Engineer - Avionics Systems**

At SpaceX, we're seeking a highly skilled Component Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our avionics systems team, you will be responsible for defining and driving a part qualification process for our satellite group.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement a part qualification process for SpaceX's satellite group
  • Collaborate with vendors to obtain specifications and samples, and monitor part status changes
  • Manage internal part numbers, bill of materials, second sourcing, and pricing negotiations
  • Conduct component failure analysis and work with systems that manage part lifecycles
  • Manage bill of materials configurations and establish multiple sourcing

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience as a Component Engineer
  • Or 10+ years of experience as a Component Engineer

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**

  • Masters in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiar with industry standards such as AEC, AQEC, MIL-PRF-38535, and IPC
