Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Engineer, Product and Component Engineering to join our team in Redmond, WA. This engineer will be part of the Space Electronics Instrumentation, Component, and Test Engineering group, contributing to the design, development, and test of flight and ground test instrumentation for application on Aerojet Rocketdyne propulsion systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform engineering support tasks for instrumentation hardware, including temperature, pressure, speed, vibration, and position sensors. Manage requirements, perform design trade studies, evaluate sensor suppliers, and coordinate activities related to hardware fabrication and test with internal organizations.
  2. Work closely with instrumentation sensor suppliers to design, manufacture, and test flight and ground test instrumentation hardware.
  3. Perform instrumentation data analysis in support of rocket engine hot-fire testing and/or component testing.
  4. Participate in engineering process training and other professional development activities.
Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with MS Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) expected. May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Working knowledge of instrumentation/electrical/mechanical engineering support of rocket propulsion systems.
  2. 6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred, but not required.
  3. Experience with formal failure analysis techniques.
  4. Experience with Visio, MS Project, and data analysis tools such as ADAMnet and Winplot.
