Position Overview:

The Commercial Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and directing construction projects from the ground up. This position demands a thorough understanding of commercial construction methodologies, outstanding leadership capabilities, and a proven history of successful project completions. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders to ensure projects meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Oversee and direct commercial construction projects from inception, including pre-construction planning, design integration, and site oversight.
  • Create comprehensive project plans that encompass timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to fulfill project specifications.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate cost estimation, expense tracking, and financial oversight.
  • Review and authorize subcontractor invoices, change orders, and other financial documentation related to the project.
  • Identify financial risks and implement strategies to maintain budget compliance.

Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Establish and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely achievement of milestones and final outcomes.
  • Coordinate daily operations, subcontractor tasks, and material logistics.
  • Address scheduling conflicts and modify timelines as needed to accommodate project changes.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure all construction activities comply with quality benchmarks, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site evaluations to assess progress and resolve any discrepancies from the project plan.
  • Maintain precise documentation and reporting for project advancement and compliance.

Team Leadership and Communication:

  • Inspire and guide project teams, including internal personnel and external subcontractors.
  • Facilitate effective communication among all project participants.
  • Address and resolve any conflicts or challenges that arise throughout the project lifecycle.

Client Relations:

  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, addressing inquiries and providing consistent updates on project progress.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction with project results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience (typically 5-10 years) as a Construction Project Manager with a focus on ground-up commercial projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and construction management tools.
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is preferred.
