Role Summary:

The Office of University Risk Management plays a crucial role in supporting the University's strategic objectives by developing effective strategies that enhance academic and creative endeavors while addressing the evolving needs of our community. We are looking for a highly qualified individual to fill the role of ADA Compliance Program Manager. The successful candidate will embody a positive attitude, possess an energetic mindset, and demonstrate a leadership style rooted in ethical practices and a commitment to diversity and integrity.

Under the supervision of the Director of Risk Management, the ADA Compliance Program Manager will uphold the academic mission of the University in accordance with relevant executive orders. This position is dedicated to ensuring a supportive academic and work environment that promotes learning, teaching, and research for all individuals, including students, employees, and visitors. The manager will guarantee that individuals with disabilities have equal access to CSU programs, activities, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee campus-wide compliance with federal and state disability laws and regulations, as well as University policies related to disability protections.
  • Act as a liaison for the campus community and the public regarding disability issues.
  • Provide training and support for accommodation requests and appeals.
  • Assess the physical environment to ensure accessibility.
  • Serve as the central authority on ADA compliance and ensure adequate funding for accommodations.
  • Consult with legal counsel on compliance matters as needed.
  • Manage the ADA budget for the University.

Essential Qualifications:

A Master's Degree is required, along with a minimum of five years of professional experience in a related field. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Civil Rights laws, as well as a deep understanding of ADA regulations. Strong management, planning, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to analyze complex issues and present clear recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Juris Doctor or advanced degree in a related field is desirable, along with arbitration skills.

Certification Requirement:

A valid California Driver's License is required for this position.
