Job Title: IT Project Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented IT Project Coordinator to support our team at Samuel Merritt University. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating projects of varying complexity, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans
  • Involve all parts of the project life cycle, including planning, design, and closeout
  • Clearly define and demonstrate understanding of project tasks
  • Work with leadership and stakeholders to identify appropriate assignees to project tasks
  • Identify interdependent tasks and coordinate work efforts in appropriate sequence
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks and bottlenecks, and implement corrective action as needed
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within the scope, and within budget
  • Prepare and review project proposals, memos, meeting minutes, and emails
  • Communicate project status to all participants
  • Facilitate team and client meetings effectively
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Maintain project requests forms
  • Hold regular status meetings with project team
  • Maintain vendor license agreements, maintenance, and support contracts
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Alert IT leadership of impending expirations; coordinates renewals

Requirements:

  • Expert PC skills and fluency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) required
  • Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, ) required
  • Understanding of technical concepts and terminologies is a plus
  • Must have demonstrated ability in organization, record keeping and data management
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, organizes simultaneous projects, demonstrate initiative and exercise professional judgment under minimal supervision
  • Must have advanced skills in time management, developing administrative systems and designing workflows
  • Ability to analyze problems, exercise sound judgment, work under pressure and attention to details
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent education required
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus
  • 1-2 years of experience in a business setting, preferably in a technology or an academic setting
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to receive detailed information through verbal and/or written communication

Employee Status: Regular Exemption Status

Time Type: Full time

Pay Range: $32.12 ~ $40.14 per hour
