Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Acquisition Consultant to join our team at Nationwide. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing complex categories, leading category/supplier segmentation and strategy development efforts, and driving the category strategy through the procurement team to ensure contracts execute in alignment to the strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Technology - Network, Telecom, and Hosting category products and services while maintaining lowest total cost and highest quality and service.
  • Develop category strategies which maximize customer value leveraging a continuous improvement structure.
  • Implement and promote transformation program with a strong communication plan to achieve a structured and resilient supply chain.
  • Develop and implement cost-based reduction strategies capable of delivering annual target savings.
  • Execute annual cost savings, cash improvement and action plans to deliver the corporate and business objectives for year over year improvement.
  • Support supplier partnerships through activities such as, identifying alternative suppliers, risk mitigation, performance management and category innovation.
  • Benchmark historical performance and forecast future price movements, communicating necessary adjustments to plan.
  • Identify and execute Procurement strategies such as payment term improvements, consolidation of supply base, buy channel optimization, etc.
  • Create and present executive summaries executives and business leaders highlighting trends, issues and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Typically, 10 or more years of business experience in all aspects of procurement processes, specific to the specialized category, including contract negotiation and project management or equivalent professional experience in other closely related industries.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of supply chain management and procurement policies, programs, practices and procedures.
  • Must have knowledge or familiarity of current information technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in project management concepts and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interact and collaborate with all levels in the business units and external suppliers.
  • Ability to display executive presence and command skills.
  • Ability to negotiate highly complex and integrated business solutions which include, contracts, fee schedules, legal terms and conditions and service level agreements.
  • Advanced skills in mathematical, financial or statistical concepts to handle all aspects of financial planning and analysis as well as procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand the most complex legal documents and contracts.
  • Ability to present such material and information to a variety of audiences.
