Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide respiratory therapy services to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a physician, you will perform diagnostic tests, administer therapeutic procedures, and provide patient education to promote optimal cardiopulmonary care. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments to identify cardiopulmonary abnormalities and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and other respiratory care interventions as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory care techniques and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • BCLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
