Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures and diagnostic tests for patients with cardiopulmonary abnormalities.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop optimal cardiopulmonary care plans for patients.
  • Perform patient assessments, evaluate the effectiveness of therapy, and determine which respiratory care activities can be delegated to other team members.
  • Instruct employees and students in respiratory care procedures and evaluate their competence.
  • May function as an in-charge therapist and preceptor, as requested.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an AMA/CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
  • Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • BCLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred.
  • Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
