Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide respiratory therapy services to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of a physician, you will perform therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures, diagnostic tests, and patient assessments to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy. You will also collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop optimal cardiopulmonary care plans for patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
  • Evaluate patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement respiratory care activities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement cardiopulmonary care plans.
  • Instruct patients and families on respiratory care procedures and provide education on disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of respiratory care policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an AMA/CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
  • Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • BCLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred.
  • Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
