Job Summary

The Credentialing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing plans for data collection, analysis, and reporting of medical staff credentialing activities across the Division. This includes coordination of Methodist/Corporate activities related to credentialing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates division-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities related to Medical Staff Credentialing applications and tools.
  • Develops, executes, and supports education plans, tools, and resources division-wide related to Credentialing functions and maintains direct responsibility for all tracked expiry dates ensuring providers maintain their required credentials to exercise their clinical privileges within affiliated Hospitals.
  • Manages Medical Staff Managers and/or assigned staff, including interviewing, work allocation, orientation, training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivating employees to achieve peak performance.
  • Facilitates and project leads credentialing systems at the facility, division, and market level.
  • Works directly with Legal, Senior Leaders, Medical Staff, and Board Members to resolve complex issues and requests escalated from the facility, division, or market related to Credentialing questions.
  • Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to the medical staff and administration on performance improvement strategies related to Medical Staff Credentialing and Privileging.
  • Oversees the day-to-day functions of the facility-based credentialing duties as well as the consolidation of the Credentialing reports presented to the Community Board for approval and resolves issues related to non-compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in hospital and/or healthcare credentialing.
  • Preferred experience: 2 years of management and/or supervisory experience.
  • Required: Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or able to obtain such within 12 months of job acceptance.
