Product Owner II, Risk Proposal and Issuance Leader

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Owner II to lead our Risk Proposal and Issuance team. As a key member of our Agile team, you will represent the voice of the customer and the organization through the delivery of business value.

As a Product Owner, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including segment level and executive leadership, to define and prioritize epics, features, and stories, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals.

You will be responsible for understanding customers' problems in detail and ensuring that they are clearly defined, prioritized, and addressed by the squad/team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and IT project management, as well as experience working with Agile teams and in the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and achieve product level KPIs
  • Manage product(s) with high degree of strategy, scope, and complexity
  • Own and maintain the product backlog and prioritize its contents
  • Participate in squad/team demos, retrospectives, and other ceremonies
  • Balance tactical and strategic decisions for the product
  • Lead and/or attend sessions with users, customers, SMEs, to gain thorough understanding of the product
  • Partner with User Experience to ensure products delivered strike the right balance between intuitive, simple, cohesive, and complete
  • Monitor and maintain product health
  • Design additional monitoring to support enhanced understanding of product health
  • Proactively monitor impact of their product on others in the ecosystem
  • Analyze and report on feasibility, cost of delay ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential changes to the product
  • Drive alignment with stakeholders to understand impact that their products' regulatory, compliance, and other industry constraints will have on other products in the portfolio
  • Negotiate with internal and external squads/teams to set aligned priorities among squads/teams both within and outside the portfolio

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Contributes to the development of the portfolio vision
  • Contributes to the creation of a product vision and alignment of strategic priorities with stakeholders
  • Helps to communicate the product vision and strategy to their squad/team and other squads/teams outside their portfolio & functional area as well as executive leadership
  • Ownership of multiple digital products (service, capability, or function), accountable for articulating value and outcomes derived through investment in the digital product
  • Works frequently with the agile working group clarifying business needs, removing roadblocks, continually communicating, and supporting alignment around product strategy
