Job Summary

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our physicians and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the assessment of patient needs and health plan by taking vital signs, history, medication listing, assessing visual acuity, and determining chief complaint.
  • Assess patients' physical and mental status, and complete all necessary documentation in the patient's medical record in accordance with practice's charting policy.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians with medical treatments, exams, and medical procedures.
  • Administer prescribed oral medications and give intramuscular and subcutaneous and intradermal injections, and perform venipunctures, CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA Waived lab testing.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients and visitors, including cleaning, sterilizing, and storing instruments in accordance with practice policies.
  • Stock rooms in preparation for the daily work schedule, and take inventory of medical and exam room supplies.
  • Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances.
  • Arrange for specialized consultations and appointments for testing as ordered by the physicians, and notify appropriate insurance personnel to pre-certify surgeries or tests ordered by the physician or other healthcare provider.
  • Answer office phones, assist the front desk in scheduling appointments, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Assist in checking out patients and assist them with referral processing and scheduling process.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support Required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program required.
  • Current credentialing (certification/registration) with American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA-CMA), NRCMA, NHA, NCCT, or American Medical Technologists (AMT-RMA) required.
