Vice President of Credit Risk for Hedge Funds

The Vice President position within the Global Counterparty Credit Risk management team is tasked with overseeing the primary credit coverage for hedge funds, family offices, and asset managers, while also supporting the coverage of Banks and Broker Dealers. This role is crucial for the ongoing management and expansion of the Equities (PB/OTC Derivatives), Fixed Income (Repo/Reverse Repo), and OTC FX sectors. The position necessitates close collaboration with Equity and Fixed Income divisions, Legal, Collateral Management, and various internal stakeholders.
**Experience with hedge funds is a critical requirement for the ideal candidate.**
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough customer due diligence and financial assessments.
- Complete internal credit rating models and counterparty credit evaluations.
- Establish and communicate credit exposure limits across trading products using internal exposure frameworks.
- Assist and oversee legal negotiations for traded products.
- Review and sanction trading activities, including recommending margin requirements.
- Engage in continuous client financial, credit, and industry monitoring.
- Foster collaborative relationships and coordinate efforts with internal front office partners and colleagues across Risk and other corporate functions.
- Maintain a credit pipeline of potential new counterparties.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; MBA preferred.
- Formal credit training is advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in financial statement analysis.
- 5-10 years of experience in financial services is essential.
- Experience in the Hedge Fund and Asset Management sectors is required.
- Background in finance and/or banking is necessary.
- Familiarity with legal agreements such as PBAs, ISDA, MCAs, MRAs, and MSLAs.
- Demonstrated interest in client engagement with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a challenging environment.
- Advanced Excel and modeling capabilities.
Compensation and Benefits:
The primary location for this full-time role offers a salary range of $130,000 - $175,000, which will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. In addition to the salary, Jefferies provides eligible employees with an annual discretionary incentive and retention bonus, along with competitive employee benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k); life, accident, and disability insurance; and wellness programs. Jefferies also offers paid time off packages that encompass planned time off (vacation), unplanned time off (sick leave), paid holidays, and paid parental leave.
