Position Overview:
The main objective of this role is to support clients with their healthcare requirements by accurately dispensing medications and delivering outstanding customer service while overseeing Pharmacy personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
The individual in this position will be accountable for the following essential functions, along with any additional tasks as assigned:
- Verify the precision and suitability of all medications dispensed by conducting Drug Utilization Reviews and Final Quality Assurance, in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Enhance business profitability and prescription volume through recommended clinical initiatives, including suitable immunization programs and, when applicable, Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and Diabetes Care Specialist (DCS) programs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing medical inquiries and providing healthcare guidance.
- Oversee the performance of Pharmacy Technicians and support staff during shifts.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager in training, mentoring, and managing Pharmacy associates.
- Assume overall management of the pharmacy during the Pharmacy Manager's absence.
- Ensure the security of the Pharmacy department is maintained.
- Adhere to all applicable federal and state regulations and laws.
- Address and resolve customer concerns, complaints, and inquiries to foster customer trust and loyalty.
- Engage with healthcare providers and utilize reference materials to gather information regarding clients and prescriptions, resolving any issues that may arise.
- Contribute to the upkeep of the Pharmacy department by maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Prioritize tasks within the Pharmacy Department and ensure timely completion of all responsibilities, including inventory management and customer will-calls.
Qualifications:
To successfully fulfill this role, the individual must demonstrate proficiency in all essential duties.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy, along with Immunization Certification from an accredited organization (e.g., APhA).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role includes oversight of Pharmacy Technicians and Cashiers, executing supervisory duties in alignment with company policies and relevant laws. Responsibilities encompass interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining staff; evaluating employee performance; and addressing complaints.
