Pharmacy Technician Data Entry Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician Data Entry professional to join our team at Woodmark Pharmacy of New York. As a Pharmacy Technician Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately entering prescriptions into our pharmacy operating system for pharmacist approval, processing prescription refill requests from facilities, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system for pharmacist approval.
  • Answer and triage incoming phone calls in the department.
  • Process prescription refill requests from facilities.
  • Make calls to facilities regarding medication inquiries.
  • Review and investigate rejected third-party claims; resolve/adjudicate as deemed necessary.
  • Review and establish cycle fill batch claims from automatic dispensing machines per schedule for all assigned locations.
  • Prepare and process third-party prior authorization forms and follow-up as necessary.
  • Process credits and returns.
  • Provide superior customer service.
  • Utilize electronic timekeeping system as directed.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3 years' of Pharmacy Technician Data Entry experience in long-term care, retail, or hospital setting required, 5 years of experience preferred.
  • 3 years' experience in pharmacy/third-party billing, experience preferred.
  • Experience in long-term care billing preferred.
  • Ability to answer multiple phone lines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Prior experience working with third-party payors a plus.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
