Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a Mobility Field Service Rep to support our Combat and Strategic Systems Operation. This role involves providing essential maintenance and training on medium and light tactical vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and replace vehicle components, conducting functional tests to ensure operational readiness; maintain detailed records of maintenance and inspection activities.
  • Analyze technical documentation to determine maintenance requirements and implement service advisories.
  • Offer insights and recommendations for enhancements in equipment installation, operation, and maintenance.
  • Provide support across various vehicle systems, including communication, engine repair, transmissions, suspension, braking systems, and electronic components.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Associate Degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma with at least five years of experience in military wheeled vehicle maintenance.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance; interim secret clearance required within 60 days of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% as required.
  • Experience in providing both classroom and hands-on instruction for Field Level Maintenance New Equipment Training (FLMNET) for light tactical vehicles.
  • Formal training as a mechanic through military service or accredited education.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DD OF346 (U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card).
  • Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols during operations.
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical components, including parts and materials.
  • Proficiency in using various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Competence in installing electronic equipment and related components.
  • Skill in documenting and modifying information in databases.
  • Capacity to perform quality repairs efficiently.
  • Experience in managing serialized parts inventory and warranty tracking.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Capability to access confined spaces within tactical vehicles.
  • Proficiency in manipulating tools and equipment in various positions, including standing, bending, and squatting for extended periods.
  • Successful completion of a DOT Medical Exam is required.

Preferred Experience

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • GM, ASE A1/A8 Certification or Master ASE certification.
  • Experience with medium/heavy duty and light duty diesel engines.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as Cat-ET and DG Diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and inspection protocols.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in military ground vehicle maintenance.
