Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a Mobility Field Service Rep to support our Combat and Strategic Systems Operation. This role involves providing essential maintenance and training on medium and light tactical vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct component identification and replacement, performing functional tests to ensure equipment readiness; document all maintenance and inspection activities.
  • Analyze technical documentation to determine necessary maintenance actions.
  • Implement service advisories and bulletins, offering insights and recommendations for equipment modifications and enhancements.
  • Provide support across various vehicle systems, including communication, engine repair, transmission systems, suspension, braking systems, electronic systems, and climate control.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Associate Degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma with at least five years of experience in military wheeled vehicle maintenance.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance; interim secret clearance required within 60 days of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% as required.
  • Experience in delivering classroom and practical training for Field Level Maintenance New Equipment Training (FLMNET) for light tactical vehicles.
  • Formal training as a mechanic through military service or accredited postsecondary education.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DD OF346 (U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card).
  • Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols while performing duties.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical components, including relevant parts and materials.
  • Proficiency in using various hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Skills in installing mounts, brackets, cables, and electronic equipment.
  • Capability to maintain documentation in databases accurately.
  • Ability to perform timely and quality repairs.
  • Experience in managing serialized parts inventory, including warranty tracking.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to access confined spaces within tactical vehicles.
  • Skills in manipulating tools and equipment, including reaching, grasping, and twisting.
  • Ability to pass a DOT Medical Exam.

Preferred Experience

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • GM, ASE A1/A8 Certification or Master ASE certification.
  • Experience with Medium/Heavy Duty and Light Duty diesel engines.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as Cat-ET and DG Diagnostics.
  • Understanding of quality systems and inspection processes.
  • Strong mechanical skills with experience in military ground tactical vehicle maintenance.
