Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a Mobility Field Service Rep to support our Combat and Strategic Systems Operation. This role involves providing essential 2nd and 3rd echelon maintenance, along with training on medium and light tactical vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and replace components while conducting functional tests to ensure equipment is operational; maintain thorough documentation of maintenance and inspection activities.
  • Analyze technical documentation to determine necessary maintenance actions.
  • Implement service advisories and bulletins, offering insights and recommendations for enhancements in equipment installation, operation, modification, and maintenance.
  • Provide support across all vehicle systems, including communication, engine repair, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, electronic systems, and ancillary subsystems.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Associate Degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma with at least five years of experience in the integration, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of military wheeled vehicles.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance; interim secret clearance required within 60 days of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% as required.
  • Experience in delivering classroom and practical training for Field Level Maintenance New Equipment Training (FLMNET) for light tactical vehicle platforms.
  • Formal mechanical training through military service or accredited postsecondary education.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DD OF346 (U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card).
  • Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols while performing duties.
  • Familiarity with parts, materials, and processes related to electrical and mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in using various hand, power-driven, and specialized tools.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Skill in installing mounts, brackets, cables, connectors, and electronic equipment.
  • Ability to document and modify information in databases.
  • Competence in executing quality repairs efficiently.
  • Management of serialized parts inventory, including warranty tracking.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Capability to access confined spaces within tactical vehicles.
  • Proficiency in manipulating and handling objects for installation, including reaching, grasping, and twisting.
  • Ability to pass a DOT Medical Exam.

Desired Experience

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • GM, ASE A1/A8 Certification or Master ASE certification.
  • Experience with Medium/Heavy Duty and Light Duty diesel systems.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as Cat-ET, DG Diagnostics, and DANA testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and inspection processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in supporting military ground tactical vehicles.
