Job Summary

The Payroll Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining accurate and timely payroll processing, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to employees. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll and distribute payments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Manage time sheets and work-time entries, including calculation, verification, and data entry
  • Identify and research discrepancies in payroll information and documentation
  • Reconcile payroll withholding and deduction checks, and make timely payments to insurance companies and government agencies
  • Complete and file timely payroll returns and reports as required by IRS, TRS, IMRF, and other agencies
  • Process garnishments and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records and files, including time sheets, extra duty sheets, W-2, W-4, and other relevant documents
  • Collect, record, and process required state and federal documents
  • Compile statistical and payroll data for reporting purposes
  • Assist with audit preparation and income verifications as needed
Requirements
  • High School Diploma; Associate's Degree preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience working with school district payroll preferred
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Proficiency in payroll processing software and systems
Benefits
  • $55,000.00-$70,000.00 based on experience and prorated to FTE
