About the Role

The Product Innovation Scientist will spearhead the technical strategy for a diverse range of products including dietary supplements, functional foods, and skincare solutions aimed at both U.S. and international markets.

This role involves close collaboration with Product Marketing, Operations, and external Contract Manufacturers to transform innovative concepts into high-quality finished products, ensuring that benefits and claims are backed by scientific evidence.

Your Responsibilities
  • Generate cutting-edge product concepts that offer significant competitive advantages in global markets.
  • Proactively research and identify emerging technologies and scientific advancements to integrate into new product launches.
  • Diagnose formulation challenges, propose actionable solutions, and communicate updates to management and R&D teams.
  • Conduct experiments to define new product quality characteristics that inform manufacturing release criteria.
  • Oversee In-Home Usage Tests (IHUTs) and User Acceptance Tests (UATs), including the creation of surveys, questionnaires, and product prototypes.
  • Guide team members responsible for technical documentation collection and verification, as well as provide mentorship to Product Development Specialists.
  • Draft and initiate departmental and interdepartmental processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify ongoing training and skill development needs to enhance the R&D function.
Qualifications

You possess a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related scientific discipline.

You have a minimum of five years of experience in dietary supplement product development and commercialization.

You can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Marketing.

You are knowledgeable about Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and have extensive experience in laboratory settings.

Your written and verbal communication skills are exceptional, enabling you to deliver formal technical presentations to management.

You are adept at managing multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
