Job Title: Ward Clerk

At Los Angeles Jewish Home, we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Ward Clerk to join our team. As a Ward Clerk, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Record and maintain medical and administrative information in accordance with our established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
  • Maintain loose filing of lab reports, x-ray reports, and consults.
  • Collect and prepare discharge records for Medical Records.
  • Perform daily audits and refer to audit schedule as needed.
  • Request and chart physician's orders and progress notes on a weekly basis.
  • File medication, treatment, and PRN sheets monthly into resident charts.
  • Maintain an up-to-date roster of residents for your assigned station.
  • Record resident identification data on designated medical records and wristbands.
  • Provide unit with list of residents on B&B training and residents with special needs.
  • Complete medical and administrative records upon admission, transfer, and discharge.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player.
