Position Title: Clinical Lab Scientist II

Location: Orange, CA

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Rotational Weekends) - 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Overview:
This licensed role is responsible for executing intricate clinical laboratory analyses while adhering to all relevant policies and protocols.

Compensation:
Pay Rate: $58.40 per hour
Salary offers are influenced by a variety of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications. Market and organizational considerations are also taken into account. Successful candidates may qualify for annual performance bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:
• Independently and consistently conducts the most complex clinical tests in accordance with established procedures and policies.
• Oversees the preparation of reagents, media, stock solutions, standards, and controls.
• Assesses the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
• Accurately records testing results and adheres to analytical schedules.
• Evaluates the acceptability of both routine and complex analyses prior to the release of patient reports.
• Responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Performs Quality Control and calibrations at the required frequency.
• Demonstrates the capability to identify and rectify technical and operational issues.
• Ensures accurate tracking and labeling of reagents and supplies.
• Trains staff in the proper execution of both routine and complex procedures.
• Assists the supervisor in maintaining the computer database for their testing area.
• Collaborates with Group Lead and Supervisory staff to schedule effective weekly workloads.
• Participates in staff meetings and Quality Improvement meetings.
• Takes on additional business-related responsibilities or projects as assigned.
• Upholds a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Engages in professional growth and development through ongoing education.
• Complies with all health and safety policies, procedures, and practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Work Experience:
Minimum of 6 months of direct experience.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Ability to perform repetitive tasks and to sit or stand for extended periods. Good eye and hand coordination is essential. Color blindness testing will be required upon hiring.

Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective interaction with supervisors, colleagues, and clients. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. Strong typing skills are desirable.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Licenses/Certifications:
Current State Clinical Laboratory Scientist license if applicable (e.g., California) (Required)
