About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Owner to join our team at NBME. As a Technical Product Owner, you will be responsible for contributing to the modernization, expansion, and optimization of NBME systems that support scoring and score reporting of examinations for the purpose of medical education, licensing, and certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Vision and Roadmap
    • Articulate the product vision for the scoring and score reporting domain.
    • Prioritize roadmaps based on business value and changing needs.
  • User Engagement and Requirements
    • Understand and channel the voice-of-the-customer.
    • Elicit, analyze, and verify the needs of users and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with other Product Owners to coordinate requirements for cross-team dependencies across systems.
    • Develop release notes and release plans to inform the stakeholder population for accountable areas.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure quality of the system through definition of acceptance criteria and review of test cases.
  • Team Leadership
    • Work directly with a development team of approximately 10 members.
    • As a member of the delivery team, participate in scrum and agile practices and ceremonies.
Deliverables
  • Well-defined and documented business and system functionality requirements (through JIRA stories with descriptions, acceptance criteria, and supporting business requirements artifacts) in a prioritized backlog.
  • Development and communication of system roadmaps.
  • Initiative charters.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans.
  • Release plans/notes.
  • Effective meeting facilitation.
  • Assistance with development of user documentation.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Problem-Solving Skills
    • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and organization skills with a detail-oriented attitude.
  • Experience and Qualifications
    • A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience, prior product ownership experience is desirable.
    • Preferred experience working with teams developing with cloud services like AWS.
  • Education and Certifications
    • Bachelor's degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) desired.
